the interloper

i'm pretty sure i attempted to post this last night. but, with the great wall here, its amazing that anything gets thru the cracks. 'cept these little buggers. a full 3 inches long (not including the long wiggly things sticking out of its head). resting peacefully on my non-working printer. on the THIRD floor office. i KNOW he came from the ancient chinese furniture (which is STILL outside under the carport). after a few minuettes of staring at each othe we promptly double flushed him down the toilet. where i'm sure he spent the next 8 hours trying to crawl back up the inside of the toilet stack.

ewwwwww....

roach motel

its a beeyootiful piece - ancient chinese (or so harry, the landlord tells us). 400 yrs old? i don't think there's much in china that is 400 yrs old any more. perhaps the eggs of the previous tenants of this loverly item.

either way, we ended up with a nice little infestation in the kitchen. took a few weeks to convince our personal s.w.a.t. team that a can of raid is not gonna do the trick. and then a "professional" pest control person came. with a plastic baggie (lunch?) and about 8 syringes full of some beige gluey stuff that he squirted in all the hinges of the kitchen cabinets.

either way, the roach motel is now residing OUTSIDE under the carport. apparently cuz the landlord can't bear to part w/ it - roaches or no.
