varkenkidlets

why?

well, we left all our friends and fambly back in the states for another journey. this time to the other side of the world. thought it might be a good idea to keep everyone informed of all our exploits.

although this kid-friendly blog may not always be written by the varken kidlets, it does have their stamp of approval. and they help choose the pix and topics.

why lunch?

i'm used to cooking for myself. i'm used to cooking for the fambly. now i have an ayi. she seems to think i should eat the food that she cooks for lunch.

am i learning anything new? um, nope. but i am having fun taking pictures of all the SAME food she cooks every day. even when i give her cookbooks (that i own) with chinese/pinyin AND english (so at least i know what i'm trying to tell her to cook).

and ya know what? it all looks and tastes the same. with varying degrees of bones and fat.

occasionally, i'll get something completely off the wall. cooked lettuce and stinky tofu. missed the pictures of that.

but you'll get to come with me on my journey thru chinaland. and maybe learn some vegetable names in mandarin along the way...
